Marketing Tips for Doctors
We have hundreds!
Here are three of our favourite (and essential) marketing tips for doctors:
Get yourself some decent branding.
Your brand, at a minimum, includes a professionally designed logo, the colour palette that your practice will use in everything you produce, and the fonts you’ll use in your communications.
Your Google Business Profile.
This might be a free tool but do not discount how important it is to optimise your Google Business Profile. If you already have one, go back and check that it is accurate and represents you in the best way possible. (Google will thank you for spending time in this space).
Collect information.
Information is always king.
Who are your top referrers? Who were they last year? What’s changed? What postcodes do the majority of your patients live in, and how many kilometres do they travel to see you? Have you collected the email addresses of all of your patients, and added them correctly to a database?
Use real information to help inform the decisions you make about marketing your medical practice to the community.
Want to DIY a website?
If you need a website and you’re looking to keep costs low. Use the checklist to collect all the elements you need to have before you start. Once you’ve ticked everything off the list, get started on your site.
AHPRA Advertising Guidelines are complex and updated regularly. We make sure your marketing always meets the guidelines.
Easily outsource your marketing tasks
Send your socials to someone else to manage.
Have someone who knows how social media works create content that reaches your patients.
Don’t ignore your referrals.
Make sure someone is looking after the people who help grow your practice.
Email Marketing Campaigns.
They are a powerful and efficient way to communicate with your patients, referrals and previous contacts.
Our Favourite Online Tools
If you’re managing the marketing for your medical practice in-house these are a couple of our must have tools to help you.
If you plan to design your own website, make it as easy as possible to update it. We recommend Squarespace simply because it’s an all in one system that is easy to use.
Your website needs to have a number of documents to meet Australian legal requirements. We’re not lawyers, so we’re not giving any legal advice. Instead, we like to use the convenience (and like the low cost) of Legal 123 website templates.
